MEMO: STORM DEBRIS UPDATE
FROM: SCOTT WIEGHAT, ROAD COMMISSIONER
FORT BEND COUNTY ROAD AND BRIDGE
DATE: SEPTEMBER 6, 2024
Over the last 60 days (2 months) since landfall, Fort Bend County and contractor crews have collected over 550,000 cubic yards of storm debris from Hurricane Beryl. As of September 5th, the debris removal contractor has completed a final pass of storm debris collection and will no longer be picking up storm debris. All debris generated from reconstruction activities (e.g. new fencing, or roofing) should be properly disposed of by the homeowner or contractor performing the work. Please contact your residential solid waste provider for any questions you may have regarding regular garbage and heavy trash collection.

Update from Best Trash:
After August 31st, 2024, residents can contact customerservice@besttrashtexas.com with a request for a one-time special collection quote. Residents would need to include in their emailed request their District name, address, and a few pictures of their pile, which will be used by Best Trash to provide a quote for debris pickup. Once an agreement for pickup has been reached between the resident and Best Trash, Best Trash will invoice the resident and after payment is received, Best Trash will schedule the pickup which will typically be the following trash pickup day.
